"How are things going with you and Tony?" Caleb asked.
"It's good. I think he might be the one you know?" Tabitha said.
"I'm glad to hear it. It's been a long time since I've seen you happy." Caleb said.
"Things are starting to look up... but what about you?" Tabitha asked.
"I know Rae called you the other day but I'm an old man I've lived my life," Caleb said.
"Your not that much older then me..." Tabitha said.
"I think I'm older then you by more then you realize but I will tell you this. I love you and no matter what I always will." Caleb said as he gave his sister a kiss on the cheek.
"Before I go... I think I'm ready to talk." Tabitha said.
"Talk about what?" Caleb said.
"I think I'm ready to tell you my secret" Tabitha said.
"OK" Caleb said almost forgetting about the secret his sister had been keeping for all these years. It had become such an expected part of his life.
"I'm a thief." Tabitha said.
Caleb just sat there staring at her.
"I haven't worked since I was pregnant with Brett but I go back to work on Saturday..." Tabitha said.
"That was your secret that you were a thief." Caleb said.
"Yes" Tabitha said.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Caleb said.
"I didn't want you to be ashamed of me or worse try to convince me what I was doing was wrong. I knew it was wrong but it was the only place that would hire me." Tabitha said tears welling in her eyes.
"Please don't cry. I really don't mind.... I just wish you would have told me sooner. I would have been mad at first but I would have accepted it eventually. I'm not mad at you." Caleb said.
The next day Tabitha got a phone call saying Caleb had died. She was still upset but at least he had died knowing the truth about her.
It didn't help though that it was also Brett's birthday.
The next day was Tabitha's birthday Tony surprised her with some pretty red flowers that morning and said he had special day planned for them.
Tony took her to the garden that she had planted and grew into such a beautiful place all by herself.
"What are we doing here?" Tabitha asked.
"Tabitha", Tony started as he got down on one knee. " We've been together for quite sometime now and I love you and I love Brett and I love Max too. I want us to be a real family now. Tabitha will you marry me?"
"Of course I will!!!" Tabitha said pulling Tony into a big hug.
A few days later they went back to the garden with Brett and Max and they were married. Right across the street from where they had met and at the same place they had gotten engaged.
Tabitha was really happy for the first time in a long time. She watched as Max grew into a child.
And Brett into a teenager.
Max had some of the best writing skills in the school. In fact he spent much of his time proofreading over his brother's papers. But the family was happy and that was the important thing.
"Tabby, can we talk?" Tony said.
"Sure" Tabitha said.
"What do you think about having another baby?" Tony asked.
"We're a little old to be having a baby don't you think?" Tabbitha said.
"Caleb had Roberto when he was a lot older then us" , Tony said, "I think we could handle it."
Tabbitha had to admit the idea of having a planned baby sounded pretty good. She had built in Daycare with Tony... Then she realized what was keeping her from saying yes.
"'I'm not a young woman anymore...What if something goes wrong." Tabbitha said expressing her concerns out loud.
"Then will get through it together",Tony said, "I know other people in your life have abandoned you when you felt like you needed them most. I won't do that. I promise."
Tony and Tabbitha were quite excited when on the first try they successfully got pregnant.
Soon Tabitha not only welcomed her first daughter but her first non-fairy child Jacqueline.
"I've been thinking..."Tony started.
"Not another baby." Tabbitha said.
"No, not another baby... I think we should tell the boys I'm not their dad." Tony said a little afraid he was steeping out of line.
"I've been thinking the same thing..." Tabitha said with a sigh "Especially Brett he deserves to know before he graduates..."
" I always sort of thought so..." Brett said after his mother delivered the news.
"I'm sorry, Brett I should have told you sooner." ,Tabitha told her son, "I can't promise to answer all your questions but I'll try the best I can. "
"Max, Does he have the same dad as me?" Brett asked.
"No honey... He doesn't... But I still haven't told him... So can you please not mention this until I have the chance to tell him?" Tabitha said.
"Sure, mom." Brett said.
The next night Tabitha sat down with Max to tell him the news.
"So you have been lying to me..." Max said.
"Max I'm so sorry but your conception was not necessarily a good time for me..." Tabitha said.
All Max got out of what Tabitha was saying was that he wasn't wanted... He thought of Jackie and all the planning that went into when she was born... None of that had happened for him. And then there was Tony. Tony had let Max call him "dad" for as long as he could remember... That never felt weird to him... needing to be alone. Max got up and left the table.
"Max! Max! I'm so sorry!" Tabitha yelled as her son ran up to his bedroom.
When Max got back up to his room he found a message from Heather waiting on his phone. "We need to talk tomorrow after I get off work" That's all it said. So Max quickly texted her back letting her know where he would meet her.
When Max met with Heather she wasted no time getting to the point.
"I'm pregnant"
"What" Max said in total shock....As if this week couldn't get any worse.
"I'm so sorry this is all my fault." Heather said tears forming in her eyes.
"It's not your fault Heather" he said placing his hand on her shoulder. "We did this together... it wasn't you it wasn't me.."
"It still seams like it should be my fault" Heather told Max
"It's not OK" , Max said using his hand to wipe away her tears "Look you're tired and so am I. Lets go home and we can think about this we can talk tomorrow when we've both had sometime to think about this"
Max got home to find his parents and Brett sitting at the kitchen table. It was there that they decided to make the announcement that they were expecting another baby. Unable to deal with anymore surprises Max ran out to the back yard.
Brett wasn't far behind.
"What was that about?" Brett asked.
"What was what about?" Max said.
"You leaving like that." Brett said.
"I'm thinking of leaving." Max said.
"What?" Brett said.
"Heather's pregnant and I was doing some research yesterday for a paper and I found out about this little Town called Bayside. I thought it might be the perfect place for me and Heather to go..." Max said.
"But I still don't understand why you want to go?" Brett said.
"I want to go because I don't want to be in Rosewood Hills anymore... Think about it not only do we have the fact that we're faeries to deal with add to that the fact that we're male fairies and our mom's a criminal. We have so much to compete with here...
"Running away doesn't make it easier Max." Brett said.
"I don't expect it to be easy. " Max said "Besides I haven't talked to Heather yet and she is really the deciding factor at this point."
As the conversation with his brother wrapped up Max told Brett that he was going to meet with Heather the next night to talk to her about his plan. He told Brett that he would leave notes for Mom and Tony (He didn't really feel comfortable calling Tony "Dad" any longer. ) On his desk he spent much of the rest of the night writing those notes.
"I think I want to keep the baby... I thought about it a lot last night." Heather said when they met the next day "I also told my mom this morning...." She continued tears once again starting to well up in her eyes. "She told me she wanted me out... She didn't think I was a suitable role model for the little kids anymore." Heather finished letting all the tears go.
Max pulled her closer to him thinking now was as good of time as any to make his plan be known.
"Lets run away." He said.
"What?" Heather asked.
"Lets run away, I was researching online for something at school and I came across a little town called Bayside. They're currently trying to attract new residents to the town...It could be perfect for us there's a hospital for you to work at and they have a journalism office I could work at and we could get a small house and you me and the baby we could all be a family. The day you told me you were pregnant my mom told me that Tony wasn't my "real" dad. I don't intend to leave you and this baby like my dad left my mom and me. All you have to do is say yes"
Challenge notes: Boy generation 2 sure felt like it took forever to get through... Anyway the reason I decided to move Max and Heather out was because my game was starting to get real laggy and I was having fun save errors and all that jazz. Also Rosewood Hills had a slight issue and the creator updated it so I'm technically still playing in Rosewood Hills just an updated version which I built up quite differently then this Rosewood Hills and for the sake of the story I simply renamed it to Bayside. I think that is all... I hope you guys are enjoying!
ReplyDeleteMax is off to a rocky start, poor kid! I hope things turn around for him in Bayside.
ReplyDeleteWell, like his brother said.. it won't be easy all the time...
