Generation 1
Teagan had just landed the biggest movie role of her career she was the biggest star in town and yet she felt so alone. Sure she had her mom and her step-dad and her half sister but something about her life just still felt so empty. As she sat alone again in the empty club that night it came to her. Her parents would hate it but something told her it was exactly what was missing from her life.
She woke up early the next morning before she headed off to the movie set to fill out her adoption profile. She had no idea just what being a witch would do to her chances but she decided to try anyway.
By the time she left work that day she had an email from the adoption agency saying they had a child for her and to call them back when she had the chance. It was late and she hadn't even told her parents she applied for an adoption so she decided to just wait till the morning.
The next morning she told her parents.
"It's going to be a witch child at lest right?" Her mother said.
"Well no..." ,Teagen said, "It's a normal human child."
"I don't know honey",Teagen's step-dad said, "Raising a human child is a lot different then raising a witch child. You're going to face a lot of challenges raising a mixed family."
" I know. It's not going to be easy but I really want this. I wasn't so sure last night but the more I think about it the more excited I get."
" I think you should really take a day to think about this Teagen." Her mother said.
Teagen took her mothers advice but she knew she had made her decision the first thing she did after she got off of work was to call the adoption agency and arrange for the little boy to be dropped off the next day on her day off of work.
The next day she got little Caleb. Teagen couldn't have been happier.
Her parents were right raising Caleb wasn't always easy but when she got to rock him to sleep every night in the rocking chair it was all worth it.
Caleb was growing up so fast! It wasn't long before he had started school and was so close to starting High School.
One night Teagen went to talk to Caleb.
"Caleb, How would you feel about having a little sister?"
"I think it would be fun! Why are you asking?"
"I got a letter from the adoption agency today and they have a little girl who is looking for a family. They we're wondering if we would like to add her to our family. She's a fairy. What do you think?"
"I think it would be cool to have a little sister who is a fairy."
"So you would be OK with that?"
"Yea I would. You should adopt her besides I can tell you really want too!!"
Teagen loved having Tabitha as part of the family.
And just about the time Tabitha joined the family Caleb became a teenager.
Tabitha became a child and started to get used to her fairy abilities.
And before long Caleb had graduated from high school and was moving out on his own.
"Be good Tabitha, I'm always just a phone call away if you need anything." Caleb told his sister trying to keep back his tears.
"I will be. I'm going to miss you" Tabitha said already crying and willing to give just about anything to have him stay.
"I'll miss you too. I love you"
"I love you too". Tabitha knew she had to let go no mater how much she didn't want to.
Tabitha never thought she would end up here but she had already applied and interviewed for every other part-time job in Rosewood Hills. No one wanted to hire her. She was sure that it had something to do with her being a fairy. Sure most stories about fairies involve them being tricksters but their are plenty of good fairies out there too. She couldn't put it off any longer by the time she left she had a new job as a Graffiti Artist.
Tabitha came home from her first night of work. It was after 11 P.M. She knew she should go to sleep after all she had school tomorrow. But she couldn't. She hadn't technically done anything wrong at work that night mostly her other co-workers if she could even call them that asked her to use her aura of creativity to help them make better pictures. They did tell her if she improved her own artistic abilities they may let her do a picture herself.
Then Teagan died.
After Teagan's death, Caleb's surprise pregnancy and shot gun wedding to one of the craziest girls in town as far as Tabitha was concerned. Caleb decided to invite his sister out for a nice evening together.
"I haven't heard from you in awhile." Caleb started.
"I've been busy with school and work." Tabitha said.
"How have you been holding up on your own?" Caleb asked.
"I'm fine, I'm not a little kid anymore Caleb I can take care of myself." Tabitha said.
"Really? Your not usually this distant from people. I mean it started a while ago but it's only gotten worse lately?" Caleb said.
She couldn't tell him the truth. Sorry Caleb it's just that I've been busy shop lifting from stores on the weekend to get a little cash. No one else in town will hire me so that's what I've had to do to get by. There's nothing more she hated then lying to her brother. But she couldn't exactly tell him the truth either.
"Things have been tight even since mom retired and now with out her pension money coming in. I've had to pick up a couple extra shifts at work. Look I have homework to do and it's getting late. I'll tallk to you later." Tabitha said as she turned to leave.

Challenge Notes: Yay!! Generation 1 completed!!! I know it's kind of boring back story right now but I promise the next generation will be better (with a little help from an interesting roll of course)Also I know the look of the blog is a little blah right now. But I'm hoping to work on that soon too!
ReplyDeleteI like the name Teagan!
ReplyDeleteProbably my favorite part was how Tabitha used her fairy aura to help make the graffiti more creative! lol :D
